Drawing inspiration from Igor Stravinsky’s ballet Apollon musagète, we’ve created a performative movement-based show. Stravinsky’s life, as a self-proclaimed citizen of the world, made us reflect on the role and place of the artist in society, and on the causes and consequences of emigration.
Where and why do we live? Can art transform the environment in which an artist exists? Where is our “Olympus”, and are we ready to make a conscious choice to ascend to it? Through movement, dance, and dialogue, we seek answers to these and other questions. On stage, you will experience an orchestra, a conductor, a guitarist, and six performers, blending their art for your delight—and ours, of course.
The performance features six languages, but being a polyglot is not required to grasp the essence. The monologues, written by the actors themselves, express their personal views on emigration and the fate of an artist in the realities of Ukraine.
